This official Twitter account publisher XSEED Games has released a biography introducing the main character of Marvelous’ upcoming game Loop8: Summer Of Gods. First announced for multiple platforms last year, Loop8: Summer of Gods will be a coming-of-age adventure game set in the small Japanese town of Ashihara in August 1983. The world is approaching with anger.
According to the character bio, players will wear the standard school shoes of freshman Novus “Nini” Nemo (known as Taichiro Oyama in the Japanese version). When the spaceship Nini once saw as her home is devastatingly attacked by enemy forces known as the Kegai, Nini must be evacuated to the rural town of Ashihara, Japan, one of the last remaining shelters for human life on Earth.
Using the secret Demon Sight powers that allow Nini to see what no one else can see, players will be able to repeat the month of August 1983 as many times as needed to defeat the Kegai’s ever-pressing threat to humanity. When Nini isn’t back in the eighth month of the year, she’ll explore the Ashihara countryside and make friends with its residents ranging from high school friends to echoes of the past. In addition to turn-based battles and multiple endings, Loop8: Gods of Summer will feature a unique “emotion-driven AI system” that adapts characters’ emotions and stories based on the choices the player makes as Nini.
Loop8: Summer of Gods, whose game design is by Touken Ranbu’s famous name Yuri Shibamura and music by Ace Attorney composer Noriyuki Iwadare, will be released for many platforms in Japan on March 16 this year. Again, the planned English release date for this year has yet to be announced.
