Cassy Doolittle was a spunky, vivacious, and excellent teammate who played from U6 through high school. The team’s head coach is Jason Hanko. Tam’s Head of the group is AMANDA Chetwood. One of her instructors recalls working with Cassy throughout her early years of SPYHA play and praising her feisty and sassy nature. I later had the good fortune of witnessing her development within our Association. The goal of Sauk Prairie Youth Hockey is to create a welcoming and fulfilling atmosphere.

It is a place where young hockey players may flourish in honing their talents while picking up important life lessons like sportsmanship, teamwork, self-worth, and confidence. The Sauk Prairie Flyers, Sauk Monkeys, and Lake City Whitecaps all play for the Sauk Prairie Youth Hockey Association. This past weekend, the Bantam ‘A’ and Bantam ‘B’ Flyers traveled to their respective State Championship tournaments, with the Bantam ‘A’ Flyers coming home with Consolation Final gold.
Both competed against a difficult opponent in the first round and lost to the eventual State Championship finalists, moving them to the consolation side of the draw. Every state tournament held last weekend followed the same format, with each team playing twice on Saturday and then coming back for one more game on Sunday. The Bantam “A” Flyers suffered a 5-2 loss to Ashland at the WAHA State 3A Championship game in Shawano before defeating Marshfield Youth Hockey Blades 7-3.
The Flyers defeated Waupun by a score of 7-2 in the Consolation Championship game. “Our SPYHA family lost one of our own,” Sauk Prairie Youth Hockey said. Cassy Doolittle was a spunky, vivacious, and excellent teammate who played from U6 through high school. On Christmas Day, Cassy sadly perished while rock climbing in Argentina’s Patagonia region.
