Idaho cases suspect Bryan Kohberger is in jail now, after bring identified using Genetic Geneology
He had allegedly killed Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin in the early hours of November 13.
Waiving extradition, Bryan Kohberger is eager to return to Idaho and see what the authorities there have against him. The media was trying to get in touch with the suspect, but he just continued walking. It now appears that Kohberger is linked to serial killers including the BTK Killer, the Grim Sleeper, and the Golden State Killer.
Bryan Kohberger doctorate student of criminology was ironically identified using Genetic Geneology
Kohberger attended DeSales University before transferring to Washington State University to pursue a doctorate. He got straight A’s while studying under Dr. Katherine Ramsland, a forensic psychologist who specialises in extremely dangerous criminals and has penned nearly 69 books.
He found out in PA they got him w/genetic genealogy. My kid has BS in Criminology & learned about material transfer (Locard). He knows this w/his edu. Now he knows he left his dna somewhere in that house: DNA = gedmatch/ftdna = cousin matches = family tree built = caught. Boom.

Ramsland worked with the notorious “Bind, Torture, Kill” (BTK) serial killer Dennis Rader. The police tracked down the serial killers through their suspected link to Bryan Kohberger, who is wanted for four counts of first-degree murder. Investigators have been tight-lipped about the case, however it has been reported that Kohberger was identified by authorities using “genetic genealogy,” a technique that has been successfully applied to the identification of serial killers in the past.
What is Genetic Geneology? All you need to know about this DNA testing method
DNA testing is used in genetic genealogy to establish familial ties, locate genetic matches, and trace family trees. Given the rise in availability, popularity, and affordability of DNA testing, the area of genetic genealogy has expanded rapidly in recent years.
FamilyTreeDNA pioneered the commercial application of DNA testing for genealogical reasons, which had previously only been available for academic and scientific research. The results of one of our DNA tests can be compared to those of other test takers in the largest DNA matching database in the world.
Criminal cases solved the use of genetic genealogy
Ten people were killed by the BTK killer over a 30-year period. California law enforcement used genetic genealogy to positively identify Grim Sleeper murder suspect Lonnie David Franklin Jr., who terrorised Black women in Los Angeles from 1984 to 2007. Also Police suspected Franklin Jr. based on similarities between their suspect and a DNA sample submitted by his son Christopher. The second was found guilty of a weapons-related offence in 2008.
In addition to solving the case of the Golden State Killer, former police officer Joseph James DeAngelo Jr. benefited from the technique. All of these serial killers have been convicted, and Bryan Kohberger, a criminology student, may have examined their cases and researched them using the DNA approach.
