Samantha Jade has opened up about the touching way she kept her late mum close to her on her wedding day.
Speaking on the Hughesy, Ed & Erin show, the Aussie singer said her big day had been tough without her mum, who died in 2014 after a battle with cancer.
“Every big thing that happens in your life when you don’t have your mum, it’s just not the same,” she said.

The singer also shared a special detail about what she did to feel like she had her mum with her as she wed her partner, Pat Handlin.
“I had her wedding ring, so I wore that that day, and that was really special,” she revealed.
Samantha wed Handlin sometime in October while on holiday with friends Jules and Guy Sebastian in Venice.
The wedding was a long time coming for the couple, who have been engaged since 2019. Samantha admitted the big day turned into an accidental elopement after they had to call their wedding off three times due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I called my dad, and I was like ‘Hey Dad, we’re going to Europe, how do you feel if…’ and he was like ‘Yeah’,” she recalled, adding that her dad has his mind on other things now.
“He’s like, ‘Are babies coming soon?’ I was like ‘oh my God, he’s at that stage with me’. [He’s] like ‘When will I be a grandfather? Stop buying puppies, I want children.'”
Jade also revealed an interesting fact about the gorgeous wedding photos she had taken on her big day.
“Everyone’s going to me, ‘Did you get a photographer? These photos are amazing’… Guy [Sebastian] actually took these photos,” she said.
“He had his camera, and he’s really good at taking photos. He’d just come from a songwriting trip, he had his camera and he took all these amazing photos.”
